Orion Collectibles is of the opinion that stamps in themselves are works of art and that a full sheet of stamps or a souvenir sheet are outstanding examples of the art and craft of printing. Ever get a full sheet of postage stamps? Especially a sheet of stamps that have been engraved long ago? Neat looking. But what can you do with it? Thumb tack it to the wall? Scotch taped it to the refrigerator door? Or to keep it from getting damage you probably put it between a couple of old album sheets and put it away never to be seen it again. Like a print or painting you could frame it and hang it on the wall like other works of art. But most folks are not set up to frame anything much less stamps. Just take a little more time before it ships out. Fair warning to those of you who are not stamp collectors. Although the sheets of stamps offered can be quite old they are not valuable. They will never ever be valuable. Too many of them have been printed and are still available. Why frame and hang them? Reread paragraph one above. Buy them because you like them as works of art and not because they will make your kids rich some day which will not happen. |
